Blackout is an annual volunteering event during which volunteers would go all throughout the university campus to switch off unused sockets and electronic devices. This not only helps the university cut back on energy costs, but also promotes energy conservation and awareness. At the end of the event, participants were rewarded for their hard work with free pizza, which was a major selling point to join.
These posters (along with other showcased artefacts) were created as advertisements as part of my university graphic design assignments.
Our task was to create printed advertising materials for the annual Blackout event.
Why Stop at just POsters?
These stickers were created as an alternate form of advertising for the Blackout event. Poster are a solid way to promote events and convey information through print, but among a sea of posters on a wall, its hard to make an event stand out amongst all of them, each with their own distinct personality.
These stickers were designed with one word in mind: Personality.
From Lazy, to Cute, to Scary, these stickers are meant for the participant to express themselves while creating intrigue for the event. The faces convey this “Personality” while the lightbulb imagery and title text draws the viewer back to the Blackout event.
Designed with versatility in mind, these stickers were meant for print, but could also be used as digital stickers or even merchandise, such as key chains.
